Where Are You Hiding ?

Where are you hiding my dearest,
Is this the end of a beautiful song?
I have searched for you in the valley
and the hillocks that lie beyond.

I have prayed by the tidal waters,
I've scanned the heath and the moor,
but the man of my dreams is missing,
O come ye back ~ I do implore.

Thou art the dear one I hope will be
turning the key to love's allure,
but my body is tired and weary now,
I can search the byways no more.

Where are you hiding my dearest,
Is this the end of a beautiful song?
